The Civic Wood Specimen Collection is the only museum dedicated to trees in Southern Italy. It is located inside Palazzo Giovene and is dedicated to Raffaele Cormio, a botanist from Molfetta who established a similar institution in the city of Milan. Inside the exhibition rooms you can see some arboreal specimens coming from any part of the world, such as a specimen from the fossil forest in Arizona (USA) and others coming from Asian forests, a section dedicated to wood imperfections, xylophagous insects, pencil and cork manufacture.
