The GIPSOTECA “G. COZZOLI” (COLLECTION BY G.COZZOLI) inside the Fabbrica San Domenico (St. Domenico Factory), was established in 2007, by the will of the family Cozzoli. Some works in chalk, marble or bronze sketches that were inspired by the classic statuary or even the most modern styles of the 30s of the Twentieth Century, made by the sculptor from Molfetta Giulio Cozzoli, are preserved inside. The most important piece is the “Deposition”, in bronze and inspired by Michelangelo. It was the result of a study that begun in 1925 and that ended at the end of the 30s. It was made in bronze by the sculptor’s nephew, Maurangelo Cozzoli, with a work that lasted between the 70s to the 80s. It was exposed in the Duomo di San Corrado (Cathedral of St. Conrad) and later find its permanent spot in the Church of Jesus and Mary in Rome.
