The Lighthouse was started in 1853 and completed in 1857. It‘s the oldest lighthouse of the Adriatic coast; an octagonal tower in white stone and 22 m above sea level. The foundation is made of a cylindrical socket from the same material used to build the tower. Inside, a spiral staircase allows you to reach the terrace where there is the lantern. You can admire the scenery from there thanks to the presence of a stone parapet and a metal railing. From here, one can enjoy a scenery that includes the historical center, the harbor, the eighteenth-century expansion of the city and even glance at the Basilica della Madonna dei Martiri (Basilica of Our Lady of Martyrs).
